Supported employment: a phase-by-phase guide
Overview
The Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) is an evidence-based model used successfully used for decades to support people with disability, particularly those with intellectual disability and or autism into paid employment. The SEQF model is underpinned by a set of clear values, that ensure people are supported into good quality careers, whilst also meeting the workforce development needs of business, creating positives experiences for all. The model was created to help drive continuous improvement across the supported employment sector in the United Kingdom.
This guide explores the five phases that underpin the SEQF model. The five phases are:
- engagement
- vocational profiling
- employer engagement
- job matching
- in-work support and career progression.
