Evaluating the feasibility of the participant-led video intervention to train support workers from the perspective of disability sector professionals

Tailored disability support is essential for adults with complex needs, yet support quality remains inconsistent. This study evaluates the feasibility of participant‑led videos (PLVs) as a co‑designed tool that enables people with disability to direct their supports. Following a one‑day training workshop, sector professionals report high confidence and successfully collaborate with participants to produce PLVs.
Findings show that PLVs centre the voice of people with disability, reduce misrepresentation, and help support workers better understand individual preferences and needs. The study demonstrates that PLVs are feasible, scalable, and valued, supporting further investment and research into their impact on long‑term support quality and autonomy.
