This forward-looking fact sheet provides young people with disability, families, carers and career educators with insights into Australia’s projected labour market through 2030. Developed as part of the Building Ability Through Career Management (BACM) initiative using Jobs and Skills Australia data, the resource helps users make informed, strategic decisions about long-term training and career development. 

Australia’s employment landscape is projected to add nearly 950,000 jobs by 2030. Major structural drivers, such as an ageing population, NDIS expansion, housing demand, clean energy transition and digital transformation are accelerating job creation in care services, healthcare, construction, education and technology. While technological advances like AI and automation are reshaping every industry, entry-level opportunities remain strong for youth. Young job seekers who build strong transferable 'soft skills' alongside digital literacy will be better positioned in the future economy.
